The star of the "Harry Potter" films, Daniel Radcliffe, is set to make his West End debut in this controversial play.
Radcliffe will play the disturbed young man Alan Strang, an English stable boy who has blinded six horses with a spike. Richard Griffiths, who won the Tony Award for his work in The History Boys and had a featured role in the Harry Potter films, takes on the role of psychiatrist Martin Dysart, who tries to discover the source of Strang’s mental illness.
The show will directed by The Gate’s Artistic Director Thea Sharrock, who also directed A Voyage Round My Father.
The production will open at the Gielgud Theatre on February 27th, 2007, after Frost/Nixon transfers.
