The Tarragon Theatre in Toronto is known as the "playwrights" theatre, and they are honouring the new and the tried and true this upcoming season.
Richard Rose and Camilla Holland have decided to go in a new direction for their 2007-2008 season, selecting 7 plays that are all premieres - whether it be a Toronto, North American, or World Premiere. Many of the pieces in the upcoming season are by playwrights who have never had their work produced on such a large scale.
Here is a breakdown of each play, according to the press release.
Benevolence (World Premiere)
Written and Directed by Morris Panych
"He's passed him on the street a million times before. Only on this day, Oswald Eichersen impulsively decides to give that homeless man $100. And that's where his troubles begin. This seemingly simple act of generosity becomes a life-changing event."

East of Berlin (World Premiere)

How It Works (Toronto Premiere)

Wild Mouth (World Premiere)

Democracy (Toronto Premiere)

The Fall (Toronto Premiere)

Alias Godot (North American Premiere)
