Chamber Musical Arrives In Hamilton

The Westside Concert Theatre is embarking on a new venture to go along with their stylish new performance venue - a musical theatre production company.

On October 12th, the company will present their inaugural production, Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years.

The Last Five Years is a contemporary song-cycle musical that ingeniously chronicles a five year relationship. The story, from Jamie's perspective, is shown from their initial meeting to their break-up, and from Cathy's perspective, the opposite - their break-up to their first meeting. The Last Five Years is an intensely personal and deep look at relationships - from both Jamie and Cathy's point of view. Colin Lapsley (Jesus Christ Superstar, Tommy, Shane at the Tivoli Theatre) plays Jamie, an up-and-coming author, and Karen Coughlin (Beauty & The Beast - Drayton, Man Of La Mancha - A.C.T. Productions, Brampton) is Cathy, a struggling actress searching for her big break.

The production is directed by Loren Lieberman, former Artistic Director of the Tivoli Theatre in Hamilton, and one of the two owners of the Westside Concert Theatre.

The show is stage managed by Hilary Wilson, who is veteran of the Hamilton theatre scene, appearing in numerous productions at the Tivoli Theatre.
