Panych, the acclaimed playwright and director, is at it again with his new play, entitled "What Lies Before Us", premiering as part of CanStage's 2006-2007 season.
Morris Panych has become a mainstay at CanStage, and this season he will have 2 shows produced there. His other work, The Overcoat, will return to the Bluma Appel Theatre later in 2007 after a lengthy world tour.
According to the press release, What Lies Before Us centres around Ambrose and Keating, two junior surveyors, who are lost in the Canadian Rockies with Wing, the Chinese cook. As the snow begins to fall, the men's discussion of colonialism, women, faith and the future, descends into petty and hilarious squabbles.
The cast includes Matthew MacFadzean(CanStage's Take Me Out, Unless) as Keating, David Storch (Habeas Corpus, Take Me Out) as Ambrose and Wayne Sujo (Stratford Festival's The King & I) as Wing.
The play will be directed by Crow's Theatre Artistic Director, Jim Millan.
The show begins previews on January 15th, and runs until February 24th, 2007.
